The course is small, just 6 of us on this year's intake, and to my relief we are all of roughly the same age cohort. It was interesting to hear what everyone will be focusing on, including topics like leadership, working with conflict, and more. The only Buddhist in the group, I'll be looking at further developing the model of Kindful Communication, doing a very deep dive into Buddhist teachings (and the Pali language) to create a well-informed communication model.
Already my head is buzzing with ideas and books to read. Engaged Buddhism feels like an important place to put attention, and I'm starting with Ken Jones' The New Social Face of Buddhism: A Call to Action.
Coincidentally, OneEarthSangha's EcoSattva training has just started, and this week's session included Joanna Macy and Thanissara, among others. My path seems to be pointed towards engaged Buddhism at the moment. There's so much to learn, and I am enjoying the start of this journey.
